BIOGRAPHY
Born
in 1962, Italian origins, mastering French, German and Italian. In the
80’s Maurocat has been among the firsts local Swiss radio presenters
and musical programmers as well as house DJ in a number of Swiss clubs.
Maurocat’s main 3 lines of activities are: music production, video
production and clubbing events promotion in the French part of Switzerland.
Music Art Director between 1999 and 2001 for the chill out zone of the
MAD club in Lausanne. Maurocat’s music style encompasses
downtempo, bossa, d ‘n’ b jazzy and minimalist electronic;
highly skilled in the deep house Maurocat forged his experience back
in the 90’s.
Maurocat is well known as DJ in several European lounge bars among which:
Danzatoria (Barcelona), Mezzanine
de l’Alcazar (Paris), Alhambar, TM-Cafés , Imagine
(Switzerland)
The leading underground clubs of Zurich, the Labyrinth
and the AERA, hire Maurocat as ambient DJ
His production “End of Summer” is the first track of the
album “Mezzanine de l’Alcazar Vol. III”. Maurocat
has been the resident DJ of “Mezzanine de l’Alcazar”
in Paris between 2000 and 2004.
On the broadcast side Maurocat is the chill out programmer of
Radio Fribourg
(Switzerland).
He has been also a regular guest of “ Radio
FG - Paris ” for the program “Radiomentale”
(presenter: Yves Leloup) and “Kwality Broadcast”
Currently Maurocat is a regular guest of Michael Marquet in “Metissages”
on “ Couleur 3 ” (Switzerland),
Maurocat reveals us, by the sensitivity of its mix, all its musical
eclecticism.
Maurocat is the promoter and Art Director of the events “VIRAGE”
at “Halle Weetamix” the arts centre of the electronic
music of Geneva and he is as well the promoter and Art Director of the
gay & gay friendly events of the MOA Club: “The
Seasons Parties ”.
Parallel to its activities of promoter, Maurocat was appointed by "Homestudio
Agency - Paris" in the capacity of Swiss representative for the
“SCREAM” evenings
at the MAD in Lausanne.
Maurocat also contributes to the “WHITE PARTY” and “BLACK
PARTY” with the "Angels",
promoters of the most important Swiss gay evenings.
